We, THAI SECOM Security Co., Ltd. (the “Company”), would like to inform you that on 14 August 2024, it has been detected by the Company that there was unauthorized access to one of the Company’s email account by an unknown third-party. From our initial investigation, the Company has found that some personal data such as name, surname, telephone number, email address, and address of the Company’s customers (including the emergency contact address of the Company’s corporate customers) (collectively, the “Affected Personal Data”), may have been accessed unlawfully and without authorization. The Company already reported this incident to the Office of the Personal Data Protection Committee in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act of 2019 and the competent police officer.

The Company has not recognized the fact that such Affected Personal Data have been disclosed or leaked by the third party who unauthorizedly and unlawfully accessed the Company’s email account to the public or any other public network and, therefore, has not recognized any specific impact that is likely to happen due to this unauthorized and unlawful access; however, the Affected Personal Data may be disclosed and used in dishonest manner by such third party.

In response to this incident, the Company established an emergency response team internally to conduct an inspection and assessment to identify a root cause of this incident and proceed with preventive measures to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. The Company has immediately taken measures to prevent further unauthorized and unlawful access by way of restricting the access to the Company’s entire email accounts and introducing more strict conditional access requirements.

The Company would like to ask the customers and related parties to be careful of the phishing which can be in multiple forms such as phone scams and suspicious emails that attempt to attack and deceive you.
